Weiner: Avoid the rush to judgment; Stern and Say Hey

MLBPA's Weiner says: 'avoid rush to judgement' on Braun

MLBPA executive director Michael Weiner is urging everyone to keep an open mind on the Ryan Braun positive drug test. Over the last two years we have had the "kissing defense" save tennis player Richard Gasquet from a positive test for cocaine and we have had the tainted meat defense from cycling. So, the public anxiously awaits the defense that will come from the Braun matter. Weiner released the following statement:

Our Joint Drug Agreement is designed to protect a player from a rush to judgment before he can challenge a reported positive test result. Fairness dictates that Ryan Braun be treated no differently. I urge all to reserve judgment on this matter until the JDA's process has played itself out.

Did Stern stay around too long?

It seems that the storied career of NBA commissioner David Stern is winding down the way Willie Mays' last few years with the Mets did. At least that's the feeling we get after reading this post from Mark Kriegel of Fox Sports.com.
