Fox Sports looks to depose Selig and McCourt
Attorneys for Fox Sports have sent notice to Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig and Los Angeles Dodgers' owner Frank McCourt that they intend to take their depositions. The depositions are in conjunction with a December 27 hearing in Delaware Bankruptcy court concerning Fox Sports' motion to dismiss the Dodgers from bankruptcy. Fox Sports contends that the sale of the Dodgers would violate a contract Fox has in place for the teams' media rights through 2013. Attorneys for the Dodgers are arguing that the contract in place with Fox should be declared unenforceable in order that the team can be sold for the highest price for the team's debtors.
It should be noted that Fox Sports also has a contract with Major League Baseball through 2013, thus adding extra drama to the deposition of Bud Selig.
