Leach returns to coaching at Wazzu; Suh appeal

December 1, 2011

Mike Leach back in business at Wazzu

Former Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach will return to coaching at Washington State University. Leach, who has a law degree from Pepperdine, but is better known for being the former football coach of Texas Tech, had been out of coaching for the last two years. Leach was fired from Texas Tech in 2009 after an incident with Texas Tech football player Adam James. Adam James is the son of former NFL player and ESPN analyst Craig James. What happened between Adam James and Leach is still the subject of debate. Leach's firing by Texas Tech resulted in numerous lawsuits filed by Leach that are still pending. Among the defendants in the lawsuits are Texas Tech, ESPN and Craig James.

There was much speculation that the lawsuits filed by Leach deterred many schools looking for a coach from hiring the controversial Leach. However, Washington State University just may have been desperate enough to bring Leach aboard, even with the baggage of the pending lawsuits.
