HGH testing in Major League Baseball; Noah claims doping prevalent in Spain

November 21, 2011

Will MLB have HGH testing before the NFL?

Major League Baseball's new CBA will include testing for HGH according to the New York Times. Baseball has had testing for HGH in the minor leagues since 2010, but could not unilaterally impose HGH testing on a major league players. Now, with union approval baseball will become the first professional sport in the United States to have HGH testing. The NFL was on course to be the first North American sports league to have HGH testing, however the NFLPA has become hesitant to start the program fearing a lack of data could produce problems with the program.

Yannick Noah accuses Spanish athletes of doping

Former tennis pro Yannick Noah is accusing Spanish athletes of doping. Noah claims Spanish athletes have been able to dominate in many different sports because they have been able to stay one step ahead of the capabilities of anti-doping testing.  Noah argues that France should be more lenient with it's testing standards to allow French athletes to be able to compete on an even playing field. Noah's claims have been condemned by David Douillet the French Minister for Sports as irresponsible.
