NFLPA proposes to study the matter, before rushing into HGH testing

The National Football LeaguePlayers Association is concerned that its players may have a higher level of human growth hormone than the non football playing population. Because of this concern the NFLPA is not ready to begin the HGH testing program in conjunction with the NFL. The NFLPA is proposing "a comprehensive HGH testing program that begins with a population study of players to establish a test standard that accurately reflects the population of NFL players".
The NFL views the NFLPA proposal as nothing more than a delaying tactic. An NFL spokesman stated that, "the proposal is deficient in numerous respects and consistent with the NFLPA’s ongoing strategy to delay testing as long as possible".

Ohio States still working to clean up compliance issues

Though it pales in comparison to the horrible events at Penn State, The Ohio State University is working to rectify what now seems to be minor compliance issues. On Thursday, Ohio State President Gordon Gee expressed his unhappiness with Buckeye athletic director Gene Smith for not doing a better job of monitoring a booster whose actions were responsible for several Buckeye football players being suspended.

Additionally, the University announced it will reduce the number of football scholarships over the next three years.
