NBA players receive ultimatum from Stern
In a move that will probably do more harm than good, NBA Commissioner David Stern has told NBA players that they have until Wednesday to accept the owners current proposal. NBAPA president Derek Fisher has already stated that the current proposal from the NBA will not result in a deal. The league says its proposal will allow players to receive as much of 51% of basketball related-income. The NBA went on to state that the offer of 51% of BRI will drop to 47% if the current proposal is not accepted by Wednesday. The fact that the owners have issued such an ultimatum will likely lead to more animosity between the two sides and increase the chances of the entire season. going down the drain.
Big East fires back at West Virginia
After West Virginia sued the Big East last week to leave the conference by next July, the Big East fired back with a lawsuit of its own. The suit filed by the Big East attempts to enforce the conference's 27-month waiting period before a school can exit the conference.
