NBA and union to meet again today

The NFL and NFLPA were able to get their negotiations back on track this summer with the help of a mediator.  The NBA and the NBAPA have made little progress over the past few weeks. Maybe it's time that the two parties look for help from the outside. With the opening of NBA camps scheduled for October 3, there appears to be little chance that enough progress will be made to avoid cancelation of training camps, as well as regular season games. The legal process that played out during the NFL labor battle helped to pave the way for more productive talks with the help of a court appointed mediator. The lack of a legal battle in the NBA labor struggle may end up actually hurting chances for a quicker resolution in this fight for a new CBA.
