Compliance department at Boise State failed to keep up with the rapid growth of athletics

Boise State football has been on the big stage for many years now. However, the NCAA found that the compliance department at the Idaho school was unable to keep up with the increasing demands put on it by Boise State teams. The compliance department failed to fully monitor not only football, but several other sports as well over a period of years. On Tuesday the NCAA placed Boise State on three years probation. Although other sports at the school were hit harder by the sanctions, the football team will lose three scholarships in 2012 and three in 2013. Additionally, the football team will have a reduction in the number of spring practices allowed over the next three seasons.
