ESPN and NFL reach new deal

Just in time for opening night of the NFL season, ESPN and the NFL announced an eight-year contract extension that will keep Monday Night Football on ESPN through 2021.Part of the new agreement includes expanded international rights, 3-D distribution rights and showing ESPN studio shows on mobile devices. The deal is rumored to be approximately $1.9 billion a year, and $15.9 billion over the length of the contract.

Pro Football Talk examines the above question. The players involved are Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad player Mike Lockley and Ndamukong Suh of the Detroit Lions.
