NBA conflicting stories; Mankins' deal

Conflicting stories told by David Stern and NBAPA
 
Progress in reaching a new CBA in the NBA may be difficult when the two sides can't even agree on why there was no meeting this week.
 
On a more positive note Commissioner Stern did tell the Boston Globe that he thinks an agreement will eventually be reached to save the 2011-12 season.

Logan Mankins and Patriots agree to a long-term deal
 
Logan Mankins, who was one of the named plaintiffs in the NFLPA antitrust suit  against the NFL that was  recently settled, finally has an agreement in place with the New England Patriots. Last year Mankins and the Patriots had one of the more bitter contracts disputes in recent years in the NFL.
