No hope for now in NBA; Voters reject Islanders

No reason for optimism about NBA CBA
 
NBA Commissioner David Stern said Monday that were was "nothing" that gave him any reason for optimism after a three hour meeting between players and owners in New York.

Voters reject referendum for new arena for Islanders

Voters on Long Island rejected a referendum to borrow $400 million for construction of a new arena for the New York Islanders. The Islanders current lease will expire in 2015. Team owner, Charles Wang has hinted that the team may need to move, if the referendum was rejected.
