Davis out at UNC; Who is Mark Levin?; Sorenstam to stay at IMG

UNC looks to clean up tarnished image - Davis out

Just nine days before the start of preseason practice the University of North Carolina fired football coach Butch Davis. Chancellor Holden Thorp announced the decision on Wednesday saying he, “lost confidence in our ability to come through this without harming the way people think of this institution. Our academic integrity is paramount, and we must work diligently to protect it.The only way to move forward and put this behind us is to make a change.”

Has there ever been a time with so much upheaval in college football as the past twelve months? From Cam Newton, Jim Tressel, the West Virginia fiasco, probation at USC, Georgia Tech and many others, and now UNC which has been embroiled in all sorts of trouble for the last year rids the program of Butch Davis. The closest we can come to finding a similar time period would be the late 1970's and 1980's with the entire Southwest Conference and the SMU death penalty.

Who is Mark Levin?

If you are an NFLPA certified contract advisor you know the answer to the above question. For those who are not NFLPA agents, Mark Levin works for the NFLPA as the Director of Salary Cap and Agent Administration. Levin might be one of the busiest people in America over the next few weeks. Sorenstam to stay with IMG

When agent Mark Steinberg left IMG and moved to Excel Sports Management he brought his client Tiger Woods with him to Excel.
Steinberg's other big client at IMG was Annika Sorenstam, however sources say Sorenstam will stay put at IMG and part ways with Steinberg
