NBA CBA developments; Mayweather, Jr - Pacquiano, When are championships won?

Last Fridays meeting between NBA owners and players produced a "significant" development according to NBA Commissioner David Stern.  Stern was referring to NBA owners coming off of their insistence on having non-guaranteed contracts in the next CBA. However, NBA players did not feel as strongly as Stern, claiming much more remains to be resolved. One of the biggest hurdles in the way is the owners demand to take the loopholes out of the salary cap, which would bring about a hard cap, as opposed to the current soft cap. Similar to the current stand-off in the NFL, the biggest issue to be resolved will be how to divide league revenue between the two sides. 

Mayweather, Jr, - Pacquiano legal bout

Attorney Daniel Petrocelli will seek a default against Floyd Mayweather, Jr., for Mayweather's failure to appear for a court-ordered deposition. The 2009 case between boxers Mayweather, Jr. and Manny Pacquiano is based on Pacquiano's claim that he was defamed by Mayweather. Mayweather's attorney, Mark Tratos said the scheduled deposition date interfered with Mayweather's training for an upcoming fight.
 
If the name Daniel Petrocelli sounds familiar, it should be. Petrocelli gained his fame in the O.J. Simpson civil case when he successfully argued the case against Simpson

When are championships won?
 
The Dallas Mavericks are now NBA champions. Although they defeated the Miami Heat last week in the NBA Finals, the Mavericks title was really cemented last July.
