Tressel resignation

Most cover-ups do not end well. Now, Jim Tressel's tenure at Ohio State is over following his resignation on Monday. We could not help thinking about another resignation in 1974, the one in 1974 may not have been as big as this one was in Columbus, Ohio yesterday. Here is a good piece comparing the situation President Richard Nixon found himself in, with the situation that eventually forced Jim Tressel out in Columbus. One major difference between Nixon and Tressel is that there will not be a Michigan man taking over for Tressel.




NFL and Cowboys ask judge to dismiss Super Bowl ticket case
 
The NFL and the Dallas Cowboys have filed a motion to dismiss the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of displaced Super Bowl ticket holders. The league claims it went "beyond its contractual obligations" when it offered fans the actual price of the tickets, as well as all documented travel, lodging and meal expenses incurred.

NHL franchise relocation

NHL hockey may be finished in Atlanta. The relocation of the Atlanta Thrashers to Winnipeg could be announced this week.
