Mark Murphy and the Packers; Armstrong still under investigation
May 11, 2011
Because it's for charity, Packer players and management are able to get together
The annual Green Bay Packers tour across Wisconsin and Michigan is underway. Because the tour is for charity, the NFL allowed the Packers to go ahead with the tour. Maybe the most ironic aspect of the lockout with respect to the Packers is that current Packer President Mark Murphy was not only a former player and player rep, but once worked for the NFLPA as an attorney. Now Murphy will be on the tour with the players. Murphy will have a chance to talk to the players throughout the tour. What is hard to imagine is that someone who was an NFLPA lawyer is now on the other side of the table and in a position that he probably never thought he would be in back when he was with the NFLPA.

Government looks to bolster case against Armstrong
U.S. investigators are seeking help from France in getting additional evidence against Lance Armstrong and his teammates from the former U.S. Postal team. Unlike the Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens cases, which were about lying to a grand jury, this matter is characterized as "corruption to the core", according to an unnamed source familiar with the case. Despite Armstrong never having tested positive for doping, U.S. officials continue to believe there is a strong case against Armstrong and his team.
