And if that's the direction the league takes at this juncture, is this really the appropriate time? Stricter rules under the World Anti-Doping Association (such as the WADA rules are for other sports now under their jurisdiction) may make a near-impasse such as we now have even more difficult.

Though the Seattle Mariners designation of Milton Bradley for assignment may not seem like sports law news at first blush, if you look a little deeper, it is.
Remember, that though Bradley was part of the Mariners for little more than a month of the six month long MLB regular season, he will receive his full $12 million salary for this season. That's a pretty good deal for Milton Bradley! So who does Milton Bradley have to thank?

New deal for Wildcats' Fitzgerald
Northwestern University appears set to award head football coach Pat Fitzgerald with either a new contract or an extension. Fitzgerald is currently under contract until 2015. A press confernce will be held today announcing the deal.
