Federal Judge Claudia Wilken has dismissed EA Sports as a defendant in the case in which former UCLA basketball star Ed O'Bannon alleges that the NCAA forces college players to sign away their commercial rights to play college sports.

The judge, however, did not dismiss the case against the NCAA and its marketing company, Collegiate Licensing Co.
