NCAA problems at Pepperdine; Suspended stars return for North Carolina pro day; OSU calls of agent day

April 4, 2011

Pepperdine University has banned the nation's eighth ranked men's tennis team from post-season competition

In a move that may head off NCAA sanctions, the school's discovery of financial aid irregularities have prompted it to allow no post-season play for not only its men's tennis team, but also its baseball and volleyball teams.

North Carolina's pro day took place last week, and while pro days are always an important thing on the road to the draft, this one had special significance because of all the compliance issues at UNC.

The university allowed the players who were in the eye of the storm last fall to return and take part in the pro day. Coach Butch Davis was very welcoming to the players who had been involved in the controversy and allowed them to show their wares for the multitude of pro coaches, scouts, and GMs in attendance.

No agent day at The Ohio State University

With all the ongoing compliance issues and Jim Tressel issues currently taking place at The Ohio State University it's no wonder the compliance office called off its traditional agent day this year. The Ohio State University has always done a good job with its agent day, but not this year.
