Tressel suspended for two games and fined $250,000
Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel has been suspended for two games and fined $250,000. for violating terms of his contract. Yahoo's investigation into what Jim Tressel knew and when he knew it has quickly resulted in the University suspending Tressel for violating certain terms of his contract.

Go to page six, article 5.1.(m) to see the appropriate section, that states failure to promptly report any known violation can result in termination. Clearly, Buckeye athletic director Gene Smith was not going to terminate Tressel after all of Tressel's success in Columbus, but Tressel, who is often portrayed a coach that does things by the book, may not be as clean as his reputation suggests.
Does the NFLPA have sufficient financial information from the NFL?
The NFLPA has retained an investment bank to help determine what financial information the union needs from the league in order to determine the NFL's current financial state. The NFL has remained steadfast in not opening their books, thus forcing the NFLPA to try and figure out what information is needed to make sound decisions.
