Will all eyes be on Texas with new TV deal?

The Big Ten Network has been around since 2007 bringing great exposure and additional revenue to the schools of the Big Ten. Now the University of Texas will have its equivalent of the Big Ten Network, with one exception, the network will be devoted exclusively to the University of Texas. Texas and ESPN have a 20 year deal in place for $300 million.

Ron Franklin suing ESPN



Ron Franklin who was fired by ESPN prior to their Chic-fil-A Bowl broadcast is fighting back. Franklin has filed a wrongful termination action against the world-wide leader. The suit was filed in Travis County District Court in Austin, Texas. Franklin claims the comments he made to reporter Jeannine Edwards did not violate the failure to perform clause of his contract. Now, Mike Leach and Franklin will have more in common than just a love of college football.

NASCAR's McMurray signs multi year contract

Jamie McMurray, who last year won the Daytona 500, Brickyard 400, and Bank of America 500, has signed a new deal with Earnhardt Ganassi Racing.

NFL head meets with NFLPA leader

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell met with NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith yesterday to see if they could get the bargaining process back on track.
