NCAA sixth year of eligibility; Cable grievance; LPGA age restrictions

What does it take for an athlete to be granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA?


 
If you want to know the answer, ask University of Houston quarterback Case Keenum. Keenum just received a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA. The NCAA will usually only allow a player a sixth year, if the player has missed two seasons because of injury or circumstances the athlete can't control.


Former Oakland Raider coach files grievance

Recently fired Oakland Raider football coach Tom Cable has filed a greivance against his former club.  Cable is attempting to recover $120,000. the club fined him during the season. Cable will be hoping he  has more success than another former Raider coach, Lane Kiffin, who lost his arbitration against the Raiders in November 2010.


LPGA Tour denies 15 year-old extra exemptions
 


Golfer Alexis Thompson's request to double the amount of exemptions she is allowed was denied by the LPGA. However, the LPGA did rule that she can have more opportunities to qualify for events in the Monday qualifying of LPGA events.
