MLB and Anheuser-Bush toast deal

MLB and Anheuser-Bush toast deal
Major League Baseball and beer producer Anheuser-Busch are drinking buddies again. An April deal had gone flat; MLB maintaining that it was merely a draught agreement- a letter of intent. Thinking that they had a case, Anheuser-Bush filed a federal lawsuit recently. That case has been dropped, now the two parties have capped another sponsorship deal. In doing so, Anheuser-Busch effectively bottled up Miller Coors' hopes for MLB exclusive sponsorship. On tap are in-store point-of-purchase displays, television and print ads, and many other promotions.

The "born on date" of the fresh deal that's in the can is 12/30/11.
And it's not often that we have a link to 'Beer Business Daily', where they're just drinking this up.

Edsall, not Leach, is in at Maryland

Maybe Mike Leach's lawsuits against Texas Tech and ESPN were just too much of a risk for the University of Maryland? Randy Edsall of Connecticut appears to be the answer at Maryland. Edsall, who did a wonderful job at UConn, building the program from the ground up, had been with the Huskies for the last 12 years.
Did Mike Haywood have a contract in place at Pitt?
Mike Haywood, who was hired as the head football coach at Pitt only days ago, has already been dismissed. But the question that needs to be answered is, "Did Haywood and Pitt already have a contract in place?" In most cases of a coach just coming aboard
it takes some time for the contract to be completed, although the major
details have been worked out and agreed upon. There is
probably little doubt that Haywood was dismissed for cause in this
instance. It will be interesting to learn more details about this
matter as they come out.
