Looking Forward To Sports Law Issues In 2011

This week SLT reviewed some of the bigger Sports Law stories of the year. Of course, we may have missed a few that you may have thought should have been mentioned.

2011 promises to have even more major issues, with CBA negotiations in the NFL and NBA heating up. The NHL now has Don Fehr taking up the cause for the NHLPA when their CBA expires after next season. Labor disputes may be the big issues in 2011.

It goes without saying that American Needle,
StarCaps, and many of the NCAA compliance issues of this year, will be
forever a part of the year 2010 in Sports Law.

However, 2011 will have the usual coaching
contract controversies, the same PED controversies, and of course player
contract issues. Dare we say there may even be breaking news on the Cam
Newton and Auburn front later on in 2011? Stay tuned.
