Rejected first round pick finds a home
Barret Loux was the sixth player selected in the 2010 MLB draft last June by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Unfortunately for Barret, when the Diamondbacks discovered injury issues in the labrum and elbow the Diamondbacks wanted nothing to do with the young pitcher. Major League Baseball then declared Loux a free agent. The Texas Rangers have now signed Loux to a contract, not for the first round money that Loux was expecting, but Loux will start his professional baseball career nonetheless.
