More on UNC
Chancellor Holden Thorp of the University of North Carolina said the school is not planning any self-imposed sanctions at this time for the school's football program. The investigation is winding down on the part of UNC. Of course, the last several months of investigation into agent related benefits and academic misconduct took a severe toll on the football program; 14 players missed at least one game, seven missed the entire season, three were declared permanently ineligible, and was one kicked off the team. UNC will await the final ruling from the NCAA on the matter.

Indiana football coach goes with company line

Indiana football coach Bill Lynch will probably lose his job after the season ends next week. It was just last week that his team gave up 83 points to Wisconsin. Now Lynch is being forced to give up a home game in Bloomington against Penn State, so IU can pocket $3 million from playing at FedEx Field outside of Washington DC. Lynch is quoted as saying, "In my mind, I've felt all along that it's a good decision." Now what coach in his right mind would think giving up a home game in front of a pro IU crowd to play an away game is a good decision? So give Lynch credit for being a good employee and saying the right things, even as it is about to cost him his job.
