No-trade clauses; You bet!?; NCAA rules Kentucky b-baller ineligible

No-trade clauses
A no-trade clause is a contract provision highly sought after by players. Most baseball teams are reluctant to grant many no trade clauses in the contracts they negotiate. Often you will see contracts with limited no-trade clause that allow the player to name certain franchises that he cannot be traded to. Carlos Beltran of the New York Mets was a superstar, whose status enabled him to have a no-trade clause in his contract with the Mets. Now Beltran has said that he may waive his no-trade clause if the Mets want to trade him. With new GM Sandy Alderson running the Mets, Beltran just may have to listen.
Tell it to the Integrity Unit
Ted Forstmann wasn't asked the question "do you still bet on tennis?", but he might as well have been with his answer. Forstmann, the head of IMG, told the Tennis Integrity Unit that he no longer bets on tennis since the Uniform Tennis Anti-corruption program came into effect in January of 2009.

Another day and another ineligible basketball player
Kentucky's freshman Enes Kanter has been ruled permanently ineligible to play because of receiving extra benefits above actual and necessary expenses while playing club basketball in Turkey. The University of Kentucky will appeal the ruling.
