No need for speculation, we've crossed that out, below. it's a done deal. Tim Lincecum has come to terms with the Giants
Will the Giants' offer of a three year, $37 million package to Tim Lincecum be accepted before Friday's arbitartion in St. Peterburg, Florida? Probably not. If an arbitartion hearing goes as scheduled Lincecum plans to attend the hearing. Will Lincecum's attendance make it more difficult for the Giants? Yes, it probably will.
It's a $23 million two-year deal. An arbitration hearing had been set for today, and the two consecutive times Cy Young Award winner was going to ask there for $13 million for one year.
Some contract highlights: $500,000 for each Cy Young Award; $8 million in 2010, $13 million in 2011; a signing bonus of $2 million.

These are worth $500,000 apiece for "The Franchise" under his new contract
Now for some rumor, not fact
Today's rumor is Texas to join the Big Ten. Well hold on a minute, this scenario is unlikely. If it were to happen hold on to your hats and let the lawsuits begin. Just remember what happened when Boston College, Virgina Tech and Miami left the Big East for the ACC. It would be difficult to forsee Texas abandoning its natural rivals such as Oklahoma and Texas A&M to play Indiana and Purdue on a yearly basis.
