NJ Devils prospect Patrice Cormier suspended for rest of junior season

Cormier put an opposing skater into the hospital with an elbow thrown to the head.

Lou Lamoriello, Devils general manager, had this to say, "We fully respect the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's decision regarding last week's incident. The Devils' organization views this situation seriously, and does not condone Patrice Cormier's actions. We trust Patrice will have learned a valuable lesson that will serve him well when he returns to hockey as a valued player in our organization.''

Here are the pleadings that broke the camel's back and got Mike Leach fired.  Link to Leach's motion for a temporary restraining order and temporary injunction.  Note exhibit A- the letter of suspension from athletic director Gerald Myers.

Coaching staff deals at Florida State

Take a look into the contracts and pay for Florida State's assistant football coaches.

Assistant coaches are an integral part of any college football program.  Tremendous emphasis is put on having the right offensive and defensive co-ordinators.  Continuity or the lack of continuity in assistants is responsible in many cases for the success or lack of success in most college programs.  For example, the University of Minnesota, which has had its ups and downs lately with head coach Tim Brewster, is now on its third offensive co-ordinator in three seasons.

Because of the importance of assistant coaches, their salaries have increased dramatically over the last decade.
