Mike Leach seeks temporary restraining order to coach Alamo Bowl
Mike Leach's contract with Texas Tech has an interesting provision at section III paragraph 5. That contract completion clause specifies that $800,000.00 will be paid to Leach if he is the Head Football Coach as of 12/31/09.

The currently suspended head coach has filed a motion for a temporary restraining order against the suspension imposed by the University. The motion was filed in Lubbock, Texas, on Tuesday.
The Alamo Bowl is January 2. A t.r.o. allowing Leach to coach the game would seem to be a step toward securing $800,000.00 under the contract provisions noted above.
The hearing is set for December 30.

The Year In Review- the big cases
American Needle v. National Football League
'Time' magazine recognized this one, which has made it to the Supreme Court, as one of the 5 most important cases of the year.
The big question: Should the NFL be exempt from antitrust regulations?
Key to decision: Is the NFL a "single entity" or 32 seperate businesses?
Keller v. EA Sports; NCAA
This case pits collegiate athletes seeking to protect several rights against a corporate giant and the NCAA.
Among our several blogs on the case, the SLT blog of 5/21/09 sets out the issues and the background and the SLT blog of 11/11/09 features opinion arguing that the monies demanded for college players is quite reasonable, even a bargain.
