Don Fehr helps NHLPA; Paul Tagliabue helps USOC; Falcons Mike Smith fined; Roger Clemens files motion to dismiss defamation lawsuit

Now that Don Fehr is stepping down at the MLBPA, he has decided to lace up his skates and get on the ice. Not really, but he is gettting involved to help the NHLPA in their search for an executive director. Fehr believes all of his experience should help the NHLPA in their search for a new leader.

Seems that the big name lawyers from the world of baseball and football can't stay out of the Sports Law field once they step down. Like Don Fehr, Paul Tagliabue will be lending a helping hand to the USOC. Tagliabue will chair a committee to study how the USOC board goes about its business.

Guess what? Roger Clemens is back in the news as his attorneys seek to dismiss Brian McNamee's defamation lawsuit. Joe Roden, one of Clemens attorneys said they were not serious when the questioned McNamee's mental state. Hey Brian, we were just kidding. This goes to show you to always choose your words carefully.
