October 29, 2009

Andre Agassi has revealed in his soon-to-be released autogbiography that he used methamphetamine in 1996, and that he lied to the ATP to avoid suspension. He explains in his book, Open, that he had claimed to have accidentally ingested the drug, having been given a spiked drink by "Slim", his assistant. On the basis of this fabrication he asked the ATP for leniency, and got it. A statute of limitations applies, and the World Anti-Doping Agency can take no action against him.
