"It's good to be king", and it's good to be executive director.  Outgoing Major League Baseball Players Association executive director Donald Fehr will receive an $11,000,000.00 severance package.

 “Mr. President, as you have publicly stated on multiple occasions, the BCS system is in dire need of reform.”- Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, to President Obama in calling for an antitrust probe.  Republicans are taxing the President's time with sports related requests (recall McCain's ongoing call for a presidential pardon for Jack Johnson).  With two wars, health care reform, and an economic crisis; a probe and a pardon may not get top priority.

The NCAA's recent settlement with former Oklahoma State pitcher Andy Oliver was in many ways a victory for the NCAA. The settement with Oliver keeps the NCAA rules in regard to legal counsel intact.
