“Mr. President, as you have publicly stated on multiple occasions, the BCS system is in dire need of reform.”- Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, to President Obama in calling for an antitrust probe. Republicans are taxing the President's time with sports related requests (recall McCain's ongoing call for a presidential pardon for Jack Johnson). With two wars, health care reform, and an economic crisis; a probe and a pardon may not get top priority.

The NCAA's recent settlement with former Oklahoma State pitcher Andy Oliver was in many ways a victory for the NCAA. The settement with Oliver keeps the NCAA rules in regard to legal counsel intact. TheBizofBaseball reviews the history of the case and offers an interesting take on the power of the NCAA.
