"Because the Minnesota and New Orleans players committed the same violation and had their appeals resolved at the same time, I believe the appropriate step is to defer the suspensions while we pursue both our legal options and continue discussions with the NFLPA.", said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell about developments relating to the "Starcaps" case.  Accordingly, Will Smith and Charles Grant of the Saints will have their suspensions deferred, since the Williamses continue to play thanks to a state court ruling.  The NFL contends that federal courts have jurisdiction in matters relating to league drug policy.
