The NFL. Even taking a pay cut is no guarantee that you will have a job. Just ask former Minnesota Viking Bobby Wade. Contracts are not guaranted, except for upfront money.However, if a veteran player is on a roster for the first game of the year and then released, he will receive the remainder of his salary. The Vikings wanted him out now, so they did not have to pay him.
